MacKid Pensacola loves a bargain! We are so excited for the opportunity to interview the women behind the Mom2Mom resale. The event is held at the Pensacola Fairgrounds, and presales begin on August 10th. You can find the full schedule on their website here.
There is still time to register as a consignor! More details below:
1. When is the last day to register as a consignor?
We accept registrations through the end of drop off which is Sunday, Aug. 9th. But, don't forget that you have to allow yourself time to tag your items and get them to drop off by 8 p.m. on the 9th so don't wait til then to decide you want to consign.
2. What is your #1 tip for new consignors?
The absolute biggest mistake made by new consignors is overpricing! The majority of the every day clothing items that we sell are in the $1-$3 range. Some clothes do sell for more but they are usually boutique items or new with the tag still attached. Just remember that people are looking for bargains. They can buy every day clothing on sale for $5 any time. The rule of thumb is that you should price your items at least 70% off of the retail price. The 2nd biggest mistake is not knowing the rules. Our website has a LOT of information that should be read and understood BEFORE you begin pricing your items. Go to mom2momsale.net
3. What is your #1 tip for first time shoppers?
Be prepared! Come with a list of items that you MUST have, as well as a list of "if I can finds". It's helpful to make a list of each child with sizes and items you are looking for. Also, children are not allowed at presales unless it is an infant up to 12 months. attached to your body in a sling/backpack type carrier. If you come to a presale with children ready to shop, you will have to come back when we open to the public. Children are always allowed when we are open to the public.
4. What can everyone expect as far as COVID-19 protocols this year?
We are encouraging our customers to masks, but we are not requiring them to unless the county officials make a change in their ruling. We have always had hand sanitizer at our cashier stations but we are adding some at our entrance/exit and concession stand areas as well. We will do our best to keep door handles and shopping cart handles wiped down as well.
5. Anything else you want us to know about this year's sale?
We will continue with our resale event as scheduled unless the local government shuts down businesses. We know that COVID has created financial hardships for everyone so we are looking forward to giving our consignors the opportunity to sell their items and earn money as well as the opportunity to give our customers big bargains on items that are needed.
